With the capacity to showcase art, music, and literature, the Richmond Public Library offers an enhanced First Fridays experience. Local and regional artists exhibit monthly in four gallery spaces, and musical groups from chamber player players to university groups perform throughout the year. In the spring, the Richmond Writers Series is held in conjunction with First Fridays.

Gellman Room - Metropolitan Richmond Artists Association annual exhibition of mixed media works. Judged by regionally known Richmond artist David Tanner.

Dooley Foyer - Enlightenment larger abstract acrylics by Richmond artist Dandridge Davis.

Dooly Hall -Simple Things stil-life oil paintings by Richmond artist Richard Rumble

2nd Floor Gallery - Nature Visions features wildlife and nature photographs and paintings in color and black and white by Goochland County artist Debra Curtis.

David Freed Gallery - features the Library's impressive permanent collection of prints of famous authors by well-known Richmond printmaker David Freed.

Newbold Perkins Gallery - features paintings by Anne Newbold Perkins, Richmond artist and former Richmond Public Library artist

This one-day-only Drive-Thru/Drop-Off Book Drive is the easiest way we know for you to donate those hardcover books, paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, and cassettes that you no longer want or need. Drop off at the Library at the rear Main Street entrance between 9am-2pm.
