Directions
Richmond’s Downtown Arts District and its burgeoning Gallery Row on Broad St are located between Historic Jackson (north) and Monroe Ward (south), Richmond’s hottest growing area. It lies west of the Downtown Business District and east of Belvidere St and the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) campus.
Historic Broad St Gallery Row is easily accessible from I - 95 using the Belvidere St Exit 73. At the exit, take Belvidere St a few blocks to Marshall St or Franklin St, since you can’t turn on Broad St, and head east toward Downtown. First Fridays participating galleries, creative businesses and restaurants are located between Belvidere St & 2nd St.
The galleries are within walking distance of Virginia Commonwealth University, The Jefferson Hotel, Linden Row Inn, Richmond Convention Center, and the Downtown Marriott Hotel. We’re also only minutes from Downtown, Historic Fan District, or Northside.
Parking
Ample off - street parking is located in Downtown Richmond and no meter fees are required after 6:00pm and on weekends. Numerous inexpensive “Honor Lots” are located on Grace St and Main St, which are only blocks from many of the galleries. Averaging $2 - $4, simply put your money in the corresponding slot for the numbered parking place you parked in (otherwise parking tickets can run $25 and ruin your night).
Valet Parking is available at the corner of North Madison and West Broad Street near Quirk Gallery (319 West Broad Street). Convenient Valet Parking is $5.
Visiting Richmond?
Many of Richmond’s fine hotels offer free shuttle service within a 10 - mile radius. Or enjoy a leisurely stroll from the Jefferson or Linden Row Inn, which are only blocks away. Catching a cab in Richmond is hard to do, so make plans with your hotel in advance and enjoy your night! |
